Pear drink for the Fourth

I made this drink for the shindig I am hosting tomorrow! Hope you dig it. En mass, it is pretty tasty, although singularly it is better, and if you make it correctly, you should barely taste the alcohol. It is super delicious and refreshing! ARGH my phone is dead so I can’t upload the photos I took… but I used a half glass similar to those short cocktail glasses you would get a cran and vodka in at a bar…

Ingredients
  1. 1 pear (peeled)
  2. Sage leaves
  3. 1 lime
  4. 4 shots of Absolut Pear
  5. 4 shots of Absolut
  6. Ginger Ale
  7. 4 Tbsp simple syrup (I made the simple syrup, 1 part water, 1 part sugar)
Instructions
  1. Peel the pear, and cut in 4 quadrants off of the core of the pear.
  2. Cut one pear quadrant into chunks and put one quadrant (one quadrant at a time yields best results) in a shaker (I put it in a cup)
  3. Add in two leaves of sage
  4. Use a masher to mash the pear and sage (I used a plastic masher that came with my parents' food processor - im at their house, gotta work with what I got)
  5. Add 1 shot of Absolut Pear and 1 shot of Absolut (reg)
  6. Add 1 tbsp of simple syrup
  7. Pour out through strainer into glass (this is where the Shaker comes in handy, I used a fork)
  8. Top off with ginger ale
  9. Cut whole lime into 4 pieces and squeeze one piece into beverage
  10. (repeat to end with 4 drinks total)
  11. Add an ice cube, stir and drink the hell outta that drink!
Notes
  1. this yields 4 drinks, with 2 shots apiece per drink
