Random thoughts and venting.

This is a totally necessary post. As of late, I have been super busy…. looking at my blog, I see that I have not posted anything in three weeks. Since we last spoke, I have had a minor outpatient procedure, gotten a puppy, picked up some more side work (because I need more money and don’t get paid enough as it is), and pushed through on my weekly grad class. I am also making a wedding website and wedding invitations for my wedding and getting the vendors in place. It’s a lot to do, especially the wedding stuff since we are getting married in my hometown, 1100 miles from where I currently reside (Oh, DC, how I miss thee. I cannot wait to return to your ample bosom…).

Meet Aldous.

Needless to say, I have been ridiculously busy. This is no excuse for skipping out on you, dear readers…. so for that, I apologize. I am one big busy sloppy messy mess mess.

The venting: I happen to know a variety of different people and types of people in this world, which I am sure you all do. I, like most other people, hate to be wrong.  There are several types of these “can-do-no-wrong” peoples; we will only mention three here:

1) the people who really hate to be wrong and can’t except when they are wrong;

2) the people who have to prove me wrong (or you, whoever…);

3) the people who think you’re wrong even when you give them facts from a credible source… often times these facts will be written down….and in turn they don’t listen to your suggestion or statement and then come back and show you the SAME SHIT YOU SHOWED THEM! (they could come back later that day… two weeks from now, 5 months from now, three years from now… it doesn’t matter, the point is they will be coming back to show you how they found what they asked you about even though you showed them…

Then you have the types of people that can’t do anything themselves… they can’t look shit up for themselves; they have ideas and can’t produce the ideas themselves… and since you aren’t busy enough, they ask you to do it…. and when you don’t get to it as quickly as they want you to, they pester you and/or go above you to get your boss to apply pressure also… you can substitute the words DON’T and WON’T here also…. these people are the people who want shit handed to em on a silver platter…. love these people.

Piles of Stuff

= shit people give me…

It is extremely frustrating and I know I am not the only one, but I also know that there are other types of people. For example, the ones that have no respect for anyone or anything. There are the people that are happy all the time, and they baffle you because you have NO IDEA how they manage it (and I don’t know about you, but I really wanna know their secret on this one); the kinds of people that are so relaxed that you think they are stoned but aren’t… (you would also like to know their secret)…..and many more…

But, with all of these different types of people, in the end, we all know that they all get upset and they all get happy (genuinely happy) from time to time… Some just hide certain emotions better than others…

And while my pile of stuff that I have to do, continuously is growing, I know that some day in the near future, it will get smaller. I have 4.5 weeks left in my programming class which takes approximately 20 hours of work, spread over three days (majority of it is done on Sat night, Sun afternoon and night, and Monday night) and then a variety of websites I am working on… each group, getting their own day, and a day for my wedding stuff; and we can’t forget, constantly chasing after an 8 week old puppy. Hectic as it is, I probably would not enjoy my life if it was any less busy. I do however, need people to stop with the shenanigans. damnit.

anyway, have a good weekend! happy Saturday! and I will work on being less absent. 🙂

  1. No So says

    Go get yourself a smiley face stamp, or one that says “Becca” or “Thank you”. Stamp it on evidence that your give to people. Make two copies, both dated, and keep one. When they show your their “found” proof later on, pull out your copy and promptly point at the date while politely explaining to them that aside from gaining the learning experience of personal discovery, they have wasted time and their employer’s resources by not accepting or reviewing the result of their request. If you do so nicely, they’ll just feel dumb and threatened, not just insulted. I can’t guarantee that a cardboard box containing your personal affects and and escort out of the building won’t be in your future, but you’ll feel excellent between action and reaction.
